Bayside is a neighborhood in northeast Queens, in New York City. Little Neck Bay is to the northeast, Whitestone to the northwest, Douglaston to the east, and Fresh Meadows to the west. Bay Terrace, by the water to the north, and Oakland Gardens, south of the Long Island Expressway, are usually counted as part of Bayside.

Bell Boulevard is Bayside's main street, and the Bayside station sits just off it, north of Northern Boulevard. The parks run along the edges. Little Bay Park sits under the approaches to the Throgs Neck Bridge, and the Brooklyn-Queens Greenway starts there and follows Little Neck Bay toward Douglaston and Alley Pond Park. Fort Totten, a fort built during the Civil War to guard the entrance to New York Harbor, is in the Bay Terrace section, and Crocheron Park and Oakland Lake are Bayside parks too. Oakland Gardens sits between Cunningham Park and Alley Pond Park.

Bayside has a large stock of detached houses, and much of it was built after World War II, when the station offered a single train ride to Manhattan. Bayside Hills, on the south side, is a subdivision known for its green street malls and the gatehouse on Bell Boulevard. Bay Terrace is mostly co-op and condominium developments, some of them gated, with single family homes in the gated Bayside Gables. With that range, we compare each home with sales of its own kind.

The Bayside station is one of the few express stops on the LIRR's Port Washington Branch, with service to Penn Station and Grand Central. The subway is a bus ride away in Flushing, and express buses run to Manhattan. By car, the Clearview Expressway, the Long Island Expressway, and the Cross Island Parkway all serve the neighborhood, and the Clearview and the Cross Island both lead to the Throgs Neck Bridge.
