Douglaston is a neighborhood in northeast Queens, in New York City, on the North Shore of Long Island. Together with Little Neck, its neighbor to the east, it forms the Douglaston-Little Neck area, which runs from the Cross Island Parkway on the west to the Nassau County line, with Great Neck across the line. Little Neck Bay is to the north, and the Grand Central Parkway is the southern edge.

North of Northern Boulevard, Douglaston reaches out onto a peninsula in Little Neck Bay. Douglas Manor, laid out as a planned community, covers most of the peninsula north of the railroad, and Douglaston Hill, the oldest part of the neighborhood, sits between the railroad and Northern Boulevard. Both are city historic districts, so exterior changes there go through the Landmarks Preservation Commission. Alley Pond Park, a large wildlife and bird sanctuary, runs along the western waterfront, Udalls Cove, another sanctuary, is on the water to the east, and the Douglaston Park Golf Course, a public course in the southern part of the neighborhood, sits on some of the highest ground in Queens.

Northern Boulevard is the main commercial road. Independent restaurants and shops cluster where it meets Douglaston Parkway and Little Neck Parkway, and the Douglaston Plaza Shopping Center has a supermarket, stores, and restaurants. The housing covers a wide range: Tudor, Mediterranean, Colonial Revival, and Arts and Crafts houses in Douglas Manor, Queen Anne and Victorian homes on large lots in Douglaston Hill, large older homes mixed with capes, Tudors, and ranches in Douglaston Park, and attached single family homes and condominium buildings near the shopping center. The Douglaston station, on the LIRR's Port Washington Branch, is right by Douglas Manor and Douglaston Hill, and the Little Neck station is next door in Little Neck. There is no subway nearby, so local buses connect to it, and express buses run to Manhattan. By car, the Long Island Expressway and the Cross Island Parkway pass through, and the Grand Central Parkway runs along the southern edge.
