Jericho is a hamlet in the Town of Oyster Bay, on the North Shore of Long Island in Nassau County, with Syosset to the east. The greater Jericho area also takes in the villages of Brookville and Upper Brookville and part of Old Brookville. The post office lines do not match the hamlet exactly: part of Jericho has a Westbury mailing address, and part of Syosset has a Jericho one.

Jericho has no old main street. The historic crossroads known as Old Jericho was taken down so Broadway could be widened and joined to Jericho Turnpike at a cloverleaf, and shopping centers and office buildings, among them One Jericho Plaza, now sit along the main roads. Retail and industrial businesses line Cantiague Rock Road in the Jericho Gardens section. The Theatre at Westbury, a concert venue, sits inside Jericho despite its name.

Much of Jericho was farmland until after World War II, when large tracts were sold and built up with suburban homes. Today the housing is mostly single family: split levels, ranches, and colonials from those years, with newer and rebuilt homes among them. We compare each house with sales on streets like its own.

Jericho has no LIRR station of its own, so riders use a station in a neighboring hamlet, such as Syosset on the Port Jefferson Branch. By car, Jericho is a crossroads: Jericho Turnpike and Broadway meet here, and the Long Island Expressway and the Northern State Parkway both run through the hamlet.
