Massapequa is a hamlet in the Town of Oyster Bay, on the South Shore of Long Island in Nassau County, and the places around it with Massapequa in their names are sometimes called the Massapequas together. Its southern side meets South Oyster Bay, and canals run well inland from the water.

Massapequa has no single main street. Sunrise Highway and Merrick Road carry most of its shops and businesses, and the station sits on Sunrise Highway just east of Broadway. The Massapequa Preserve follows Massapequa Creek through woods and ponds from the Southern State Parkway down to Massapequa Lake at Merrick Road, and the Bethpage Bikeway starts from the preserve. Sunset Park, near the Harbor Green neighborhood, holds the Fort Massapeag Archeological Site, a National Historic Landmark.

Massapequa grew fast after World War II, and much of its housing comes from that boom: capes, ranches, high ranches, split levels, and colonials. South of Merrick Road, canals run inland from the bay and many homes sit on the water, in neighborhoods such as Biltmore Shores, Harbor Green, and Bar Harbor. Homes near the water can bring flood zone and insurance questions, and we raise them early. We compare each house with sales that match its setting.

The Massapequa station serves the LIRR's Babylon Branch, and some trains begin or end their runs there. By car, Sunrise Highway and Merrick Road run east and west through the hamlet, Broadway and Hicksville Road run north, and the Southern State Parkway and the Bethpage State Parkway are close by.
